Headshots can be used for a number of things. From auditions, to websites, it's always a good idea to have clean cut pictures of yourself to represent you. To ensure that you get everything that you want out of your session there are some things that you should keep in mind!

WHERE are you going to take your photos? I typically take headshots at The Cathedral Of The Sacred Heart in Richmond, but they can be taken anywhere that is clean and basic. Historic buildings, churches, or government buildings seem to work the best for this. I can also do headshots indoors with a plain backdrop. The possibilities are endless, and they're up to you!

WHAT are you going to wear? I cannot express how important what you wear during your session is. We all have different styles and aesthetics, but it important to wear something that will flatter you. For headshots it's not about wearing your most fashionable outfit, it's more basic then that. Just wear a shirt or dress that is plain, not distracting, wrinkle free, and covers your bra straps!

I would recommend bringing a water bottle, rag, wipes, tissues, makeup, hairspray, brush and mirror to your session as you should be prepared for anything.

Never hesitate to ask questions, reach out, or take a risk, that's what life is all about after all, so let's do it together!
